Poison Arrow

Almost on the same day that Tre Arrow begins his US Trial on domestic terrorism charges, Earth Liberation Front vandals set fire to millions of dollars worth of homes in metropolitan Seattle. Arrow denies connections to ELF, as many people do, but at the very least we can say he harbors serious sympathies for them and their point of view. Tre, by the way, has spent something like the last four years in Canadian jails fighting extradition on charges here in the states. Like all thugs and low lifes who cloak their crimes with a false veneer of nobility, he was tripped up by a simple infraction: He was caught on security camera in Canada shoplifting.

I have family who are scientists and work in biology related fields, some of which indirectly contributes to medical advances. I've seen attacks by ELF that could have just as easily been mounted against buildings my relatives occupied at the time. So you can imagine how little patience I have with these people.

If Tre gets convicted, he can console himself with the fact that he will be staying for a very long time in a very small space requiring a minimum of energy and resources.

Where The Johns Are...IRS Waits For Me

Check out this article on the "day laborer site" that Tom Potter and the Democrats are about to set up in NE using your money and my money to pay for it. "Day laborer," is a euphemism for economic johns who go cruising for illegal aliens to hire at substandard wages and put Americans out of work. Hiring illegals is against the law, and Potter and the Democrats know this. They're flaunting the law and using our hard earned money to finance it. Think the democrats will spend your money wisely? Read the article and think again, think hard and think about voting for Republicans in the Fall. And if the you want to call and give the Mayor a piece of your mind about this, you can call him at 503-823-4120. Speak up, people!

Grumpy Old White Women

Pity the poor feminist ideologues. As the article indicates, more and more women are (gasp!) voting for the candidate of their choice based on some other reason besides their gender. How could feminism have come to such a misbegotten low? Just what is the world coming to? Perhaps the answer is...where you and me are free to be...you and me. And vote for whoever we want. Sorry, Betty. Too bad, Gloria. Sionara, Bella. The law of unintended consequences is at work here...and people are actually deciding for themselves what they want to do.

Vitamin H-2 Can Go A Long Ways To Solving Our Ilegal Alien Problem

I'll bet you think we haven't made any extra generous or reasonable effort to deal with the problem of people from other countries wanting to enter the United States for work. To hear the open borders crowd, you'd think it is impossible for people who want to come to this country to come here any other way short of applying for citizenship, except to sneak across the border illegally.

Well, you'd be wrong, there, bunky. Check out this article in Portland's El Hispanic News, which talks about the H-2 program for legally bringing agricultural workers into our country. Government approved, safer, with better monitoring and working conditions, the H-2 program brings in more and more people who want to work here legally every year. Farmers, etc. simply have to prove that the demand for that particular kind of labor in America is greater than the supply and that they need to bring people in from outside (which is definitely true about agriculture). And shazam! Problem solved. People happy.

So why do we still go round about this? Well, my thinking is this: Big Agriculture wishes H-2 wasn't here or they could limit it, because without H-2, they have lots of cowed, frightened slave labor they can mistreat any way they please with no one the wiser because their workers are afraid of being deported and won't talk to the authorities about abuses. H-2 means they are getting workers at a considerably lower wage, but still much higher than they would have otherwise paid, AND the workers have some kind of monitoring and protection.

So what are fighting about? Bring on H-2! Let's get this whole problem resolved. We've got the solution and we've got the people, we've just got to get Big Agriculture to stop whining about this and embrace the compromise.
